Part Time
The client is a lovely lady with Borderline personality disorder and anxiety which has led to alcohol abuse. She suffers from back pain and also has Type 2 diabetes.
She also has COPD but still chooses to smoke.
She is looking for someone who can provide companionship and help her gain access to the local community as well as assist with some light housework as she prides herself in having a clean and tidy environment.
She also requires some support with planning a shopping list as she usually orders food with her cousin who she is very close.
She had an eating disorder in the past so may benefit from regular monitoring of her weight to ensure she is maintaining her ability to manage her nutrition.
She enjoys socialising with people she gets on well with and likes to go out shopping. She used to enjoy dancing but advised she hasn't been able to do this as much due to back pain. She enjoys listening to music and watching TV. She particularly enjoys crime dramas.
Her family are important to her and she has good relationships with her dad, son and cousin. She is particularly close to her cousin and he provides her with regular support.
It is important to her that she can be as independent as possible and that she has the freedom to live her life as she chooses.
She has a good level of insight into her health and mental health needs and can think practically about how she will manage in her new home; she has visited her new flat and has looked around at the local community, noting where bus stops and local shops are and how she might get to places. She is also able to identify areas where she feels support is needed to maintain her mental health and well-being, such as social opportunities and help with complex paperwork. She also gets blood tests and has fortnightly GP appointments she will need support with attending.
Her cousin is very supportive and he provides emotional support and assistance with online shopping. She advised that her cousin will continue to provide this support when she moves into independent living.
The schedule for this position is:
Thursday and Friday - 10am - 3pm
Total - 10 hours
